Aesthetic problems range from facial wrinkles and sun spots to loose skin and unwanted hair. No matter how you’d like to rejuvenate your appearance, all your aesthetic needs are treated by Beata I. Styka, MD, in Palos Heights, Illinois. Dr. Styka uses the Cynosure® Icon™ aesthetic system, a minimally invasive laser system that allows each patient to receive fully customized skin care without downtime. If you’re ready to refresh your appearance, call the office or schedule an appointment online.
The Icon is one of today’s most advanced aesthetic laser systems. With the Icon, Dr. Styka has one medical device that operates multiple lasers. This feature allows her to fully customize your aesthetic treatment because different laser wavelengths determine your results.
The versatile Icon system allows Dr. Styka to treat:
Dr. Styka also uses the Cynosure Icon to resurface your skin, restoring a glowing complexion, removing dry skin, and paving the way for fresh, firm skin.
The Icon produces exceptional results with three key actions:
Gentle heat from the Icon laser removes the upper layers of your skin. While it works the same way as a chemical peel, the laser gives Dr. Styka exceptional control, allowing her to precisely remove one or multiple layers, based on your aesthetic needs.
To perform a photofacial, Dr. Styka uses the Icon laser that targets pigments. The laser’s energy is only absorbed by the reddish-blue pigments in veins and brown pigments in age spots and hair follicles. Heat from the laser breaks down the pigmented cells, and then they either slough off the surface or they’re eliminated by your body.
Another Icon attachment sends out laser energy that reaches deep below the skin without harming the skin’s surface. Heat from the laser stimulates collagen production, which in turn produces tighter, firmer skin. New, collagen-rich skin replaces old skin, smoothin away wrinkles and restores a more youthful appearance.
Your session may last from five minutes to an hour, depending on the procedure and the area of your body being treated. Following most treatments, your skin may be slightly red like a sunburn, a side effect that lasts a short time. No matter how long your treatment takes, you can return to your normal daily activities as soon as you’re finished.
